Laurie C. Williams

 
A canine education specialist, dog behavior counselor and trainer for over 25 years, Laurie is the owner and Director of Training and Behavior Counseling at Pup 'N Iron Canine Fitness & Learning Center in Fredericksburg, VA and administrator and visionary of Camp Rally Mania.  Laurie has competed and titled a variety of dogs in competitive sports including conformation, obedience, rally, and agility since 1986.  Laurie appeared on the 2008 CBS summer reality show Greatest American Dog with her seven year old Maltese dog Andrew.  They were selected runners-up, but were praised for always demonstrating the beautiful, mutually respectful relationship that can result from positive, dog-friendly training.  One of the first dog trainers in Virginia to beccome a Certified Professional Dog Trainer with the Certification Council of Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT), Laurie is past Vice-President/Assistant Chair, Board Member and Rally Chair of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers and currently a professional member of The Pet Professional Guild.   She is a nationally published writer whose work has appeared in Fitness, Good Housekeeping, Shape, and 9-1-1 magazines and The Dog Trainers Resource Book 2.  She has had her own blogs on Examiner.com, Dogster.com, and Dogstardaily.com, frequently writes pet-related columns for the Stafford County Sun newspaper, and a past Contributing Editor for The APDT Chronicle of the Dog.  She is the host of DSPN - Dog Sports and Performance Network radio podcast on Pet Life Radio, an AKC Canine Good Citizen, Delta Society Pet Partner therapy dog evaluator, a licensed AKC, UKC, World Cynosport (formerly APDT) Rally Judges as well as a C-WAGS Obedience judge.
